This type of deep tissue massage is perfect for releasing muscle tension and knots caused by postural and mental stress. It also speeds up the muscle recovery process from training and injury.
No, at MassageHull.com we are careful to work at the right pressure for YOU. Pain just causes the body to tense up – the exact opposite of what we want to achieve. There may be some tenderness when working on tight muscles, but this should also feel relieving at the same time.
Shorts & T-shirt is ideal but whatever you feel comfortable in is fine. If your treatment requires you to be in just your underwear, then towels will be provided to make sure you are covered and feel comfortable. You masseur will exit the treatment room whilst you get changed.
Not at all. Sports massage massively helps improve exercise performance but 90% of our clients are average people of all shapes and sizes. We all have the same muscles which need loosening up every so often from postural and mental stresses.
If you are getting referred pain / numbness / tingling, then you may have a trapped nerve. If it’s a muscle that’s pushing on that nerve then yes, massage will help. However, if it’s something else that’s effecting the nerve e.g. a spinal disc, then massage may or may not help. If in doubt, talk to us and we may refer you to a physiotherapist for a diagnosis if needed.
As above, it depends on the cause of pressure on the sciatic nerve. If it’s a bulging / slipped disc, then speak to a physiotherapist. If its down to tightness in the gluteal muscles, then sports massage can certainly help. Again, contact us for a chat and we’ll go from there!
Exercising before your treatment is great (if you’re not too sweaty) as it pre-warms the muscles. After your massage try not to exercise the muscles treated for at least 24hrs to get the full benefits of your massage treatment.
Afraid not, but rest assured that our masseur is very professional and will provide towels where needed and leave the room whilst you get changed. It is vital to us that you feel completely comfortable in your sports massage treatment.
We may recommend that for injury rehabilitation or extremely tight muscles, you would benefit from a several treatments (appox 1x week apart), but YOU are always in control. For just maintenance massage, then most people re-book about every six weeks.
We accept online bank transfer to our business account or cash, whichever is easiest for you.
